A small 1-oz bag of rice seed still in the hull. The hull is a hard protective coating that protects the rice seed. Removal of the hull is done at a mill and is the first step in processing rice for consumption. This is a companion resource to use with the lesson More Than One Grain of Rice or other lessons related to rice, grains, seeds, or food processing.
