Grades K–5 (Kit)
Grow your own farm in the palm of your hand! This kit gives students the chance to plant five different types of seeds in the fingers of a food handler’s glove, creating a mini greenhouse they can watch transform over time. It’s a fun, hands-on way to explore plant growth, germination, and the diversity of seeds.
With just cotton, water, and a glove, students will observe sprouts emerging within a few days. This activity makes plant science accessible and engaging, giving young learners a memorable introduction to agriculture, biology, and genetics.

Extend the Learning
Encourage students to compare how different seeds sprout, track plant growth in journals, or transplant their seedlings into soil to continue the growing process. Try the Changing Variables activity to test what happens when seeds are missing water, air, or warmth—or explore other creative variables such as light and alternative liquids.
