Grades K–5 (Kit)

Grow your own farm in the palm of your hand! This kit gives students the chance to plant five different types of seeds in the fingers of a food handler’s glove, creating a mini greenhouse they can watch transform over time. It’s a fun, hands-on way to explore plant growth, germination, and the diversity of seeds.

With just cotton, water, and a glove, students will observe sprouts emerging within a few days. This activity makes plant science accessible and engaging, giving young learners a memorable introduction to agriculture, biology, and genetics.

Looking for a single-seed version? Try the Farming in a Glove – Corn Seeds kit.

    Farming in a Glove

Posted by Kelly Kline on Apr 2nd 2019

My students loved this activity. We have been studying soil. They were quite interested in watching the seed coats split and having the tiny plants really appear. Amazing how nature/science continues to be magic for my students!

I appreciated that all of the supplies were provided; including enough in case we made any mistakes and had to start over.

Information card provided was easy to use and appreciated.

Arrived in less than a week.
