Grades 3-5 (Poster)
Did you know a cow spends about six hours eating and eight hours chewing its cud each day? This 24" x 32" laminated activity poster helps students explore the fascinating digestive process of cattle through an interactive demonstration. The poster includes a large pompom glued to a magnet, representing the cow’s food, plus an additional magnet for the back of the poster. By using the second magnet to move the pompom along, students can follow the "food" as it travels through the cow’s four stomach compartments.
Also available: the Chew It Twice – Beef Poster. The only difference between the two posters is the featured animal—this version highlights a dairy cow, while the Beef Poster showcases a beef cow.
